Fundraise.

We're thrilled you're interested in supporting our mission through fundraising! CHDs are complex, life-altering conditions that impact 1 in 100 newborns; yet research and resources often fall short. That's where you come in. Your fundraising efforts will help us provide the vital support, programs, and research that heart families desperately need.

Below are some resources, ideas, and guidelines to help ensure that your fundraiser is a success. Feel free to reach out to us along the way at info@thebrettboyerfoundation.org should you need any support. We’re here to help!

FUNDRAISE

Fundraising Tools.

We’ve put together a folder of tools and resources to help you on your fundraising journey. You’ll find a print-out with information about us, guidelines for your fundraiser, and some graphics you can use to help spread the word!

  • Any amount raised will be a huge benefit to our mission. Even $100 can help pay for gas for a family who lives far from the hospital. Whether you're planning a lemonade stand or a fancy party, we're so grateful for your efforts!

  • We do not provide individual crowdfunding. All funds raised go directly into our organization's focus areas. If you do fundraise in someone's honor or memory we will notify that person of your contribution.

  • Unfortunately we are unable to assist financially or provide staff for any community fundraisers. It should be made clear that your fundraiser is on behalf of (not organized by) The Brett Boyer Foundation. We would, however LOVE to share any social media posts about your fundraiser or event. Feel free to email us at info@thebrettboyerfoundation.org to let us know you'll be posting!

Fundraising Ideas.

Fundraising is a powerful way of showing your support for The Brett Boyer Foundation. There are many ways to fundraise, including in-person fundraisers and social media fundraisers. Before you decide what’s right for you, make sure you’ve put thought into what your goals are, and how much time and effort you’re able to put into your fundraiser. Below are some ideas for in-person fundraisers as well as instructions for how to create Facebook and Instagram fundraisers.

SOCIAL MEDIA

    1. Open the Facebook app (on computer, login to facebook.com

    2. Tap the magnifying glass at the top right to search, type in Fundraisers and select it from the results (on computer, click Fundraisers on the left side menu – if you don’t see Fundraisers, click See More)

    3. Tap the blue Raise Money button (On computer, click the blue Select nonprofit button)

    4. Search for The Brett Boyer Foundation and select it from the results

    5. Enter:

      1. The goal amount of money you want to raise – it’s best to choose a reasonable amount and exceed it rather than a goal that feels too high to reach. Every dollar raised helps further our mission!

      2. The end date of your fundraiser – 2 weeks is the default or you can choose a date that is special to you.

      3. The title of your fundraiser

      4. Your reason for raising money – please share your story here and tell your friends why you support our foundation and what it means to you

      5. Optionally you can upload your own cover photo by clicking the (+) icon on the sample cover photo. You’ll be able to add more photos to your fundraiser once it is published

    6. Tap or click Create

    7. You’ll see a screen pop up where you can invite your friends to donate to your fundraiser, share your fundraiser in your feed etc. You can skip this for now

    8. Your fundraiser has now been created!

    9. Add any photos you’d like to by posting them in the “write something…” section

    10. IMPORTANT: It is crucial that you invite friends to donate AND share the fundraiser to your feed using the buttons at the top right. Be sure to tag us in your post and set the audience to public so we can interact with you!

      Make sure you share your fundraiser a few times throughout the timeframe, and especially when there are 24 hours left to donate so people don’t miss out.

    1. Open the Instagram app

    2. Tap the + to create a new post

    3. Choose your photo(s)/video(s) and tap Next

    4. Make any edits you’d like and tap Next

    5. Add a caption that tells your story, why you support The Brett Boyer Foundation and why it matters to you

    6. Be sure to tag @brightforbrett

    7. Tap Add fundraiser, search for The Brett Boyer Foundation and select it from the results

    8. Tap Edit fundraiser to change the fundraiser title and choose a goal amount - then tap Done

      1. It’s best to choose a reasonable amount and exceed it rather than a goal that feels too high to reach. Every dollar raised helps further our mission!

    9. Once you’re happy with your post details, tap Share

    10. IMPORTANT: Make sure you share the post to your stories periodically over the 30 days of your fundraiser to remind your friends to donate

Thank you so very much for your efforts! After your fundraiser is complete, you can send your donation to us via check, money order, wire, or online. For wiring info please email us at info@thebrettboyerfoundation.org.
