Mental Health Inititative

In partnership with the AshBritt Foundation, The Brett Boyer Foundation is thrilled to announce the funding of a full-time mental health specialist at Vanderbilt focused specifically on the CHD community. This position has been in the works for quite some time and is part of a multi-center research project being led by Dr. Nadine Kapararian - professor of Pediatrics and founding director of the Cincinnati Children’s Center for Heart Disease and Mental Health, a partnership between the Heart Institute and Division of Behavioral Medicine & Clinical Psychology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

Dr. Kasparian and her team are working to prove out theories regarding early mental health intervention for parents and patients and both the mental and physical outcomes of these interventions. We are honored to be a part of this promising project and hope to see progress in this area in institutions around the country.
